Go Back To Where You Came From: UN Patrol, South Sudan

I am a producer/director and cameraman with 25 years experience working on factual, documentary, reality tv broadcast series, and online digital content in Australia and abroad. I love storytelling and being able to document important stories from our community that need to be told. I have proudly produced and directed landmark SBS social issue documentaries: Go Back to Where You Came From, Struggle Street, and Filthy Rich and Homeless. Most recently I worked on the Alone TV series and The Matchmakers series for SBS. Over the years I have produced series for the BBC, Discovery, National Geographic, and Australian broadcasters: ABC, Seven, Nine and Ten.

I started my television career at TVNZ in New Zealand in the camera department on a trainee internship. I then moved to the UK and worked as a cameraman before becoming a producer/director for the BBC, ITV, Carlton, and Sky TV UK.

I have experience working as a sole operator on adventure documentary series as well as directing multi-camera setups on big reality TV series. I have my own camera, lighting and audio kit. I am a competent editor on various platforms, and have experience using broadcast satellite systems such as Live U.

I hold a current HUET certificate to be able to film in helicopters and have done hostile environment training to be able to work in war zones.

Over the years I have had the privilege to produce and film some of Australia’s landmark social issue documentary series. SBS series Go Back To Where You Came From, Struggle Street and Filthy RIch and Homeless are Logie award winning series that deal with social issues in Australia.
